At its simplest, a frequency is just the speed of a vibration. We usually measure it in hertz (Hz), which means “cycles per second.” Some frequencies are slow enough we can both feel and hear them, like the rumble of a passing truck or large bass speakers. Others are so fast they’re completely silent to our ears.

Resonance is when two things vibrate together in harmony. Strike a tuning fork near another one of the same pitch, and the second will start to hum without being touched. That’s resonance, and it’s not limited to musical instruments. In science, it’s been observed in everything from bridges swaying in the wind to atoms aligning with magnetic fields.     • This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the good news is that you don’t need marathon sessions to reach your goals. If you’re new to frequency therapy, start gently at around 30 seconds and gradually work your way up as your body adjusts. Once you hit 90 seconds, that is more than enough time for the frequencies to move through your circulatory system and reach the areas they’re meant to support, though some people prefer to run frequencies for up to 3 minutes. You can listen for longer if you’d like, and some people enjoy that, but remember: more time doesn’t necessarily mean better. Just like stretching or exercising, it is best to do shorter sessions daily and work your way up to longer ones. The key is to stay hydrated, listen to your body, and follow its cues.     • Hi there! 👋 With headphones, simply place them in or over your ears (depending on the type you’re using). You can also play the frequencies through your phone or tablet speakers. Just avoid Bluetooth speakers, since wireless signals can interfere with the frequency delivery.
